Hello.
This is really happening. I’ve decided what I want to be when I grow up. Just weeks shy of my 45th birthday. It’s about time, I know. You see, since I was a little girl, I’ve been drawn to organizing and keeping spaces neat and tidy. To this day, I still find myself folding clothes and “beautifying” shelves at retail stores, jumping into organizing a cabinet or closet for my family while I visit with them, or asking for practical yet pretty containers for my birthday to use in my spice cabinet.
I graduated from Saint Michael’s College with a business degree knowing that I was interested in someday starting my own. Yet still - I had other dreams to pursue. Two big ones. First of all, I wanted to fly. My first job out of college got me enough spending money to take lessons here at BTV. There is nothing like learning to fly among the Green Mountains, over Lake Champlain, and literally between F-16s. It feels like yesterday. Anyway - after earning my private pilot certificate, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona to continue to pursue my dream of a life in aviation. Hundreds of hours of flying over the Sonoran Desert, the lush banks of the Colorado River, and the beautiful mountains surrounding Phoenix and southern California, it was literally a dream come true. Which led me to dream number 2.
It’s a long story, but here’s the gist. My ground school teacher and I fell in love, got married, moved back to Vermont, and had 4 beautiful children. My fairytale. During all of this, I realized something - I didn’t want to fly for a living. My husband does, and being a pilot’s wife isn’t bad. What’s more important to me than my flying dream is my family dream. And I’m ok with that. Now that my kids are all in school, my desire to have my own business has come back. Helping other people free up time and space in their life to enjoy moments with their dreams is turning out to be just the perfect fit. So here goes Amie Davis Organizing.
I can’t wait.
